Confirmation Preparation is a program which prepares teens to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Sacrament of Confirmation increases and deepens what each teen received at Baptism. Through this Sacrament they will receive grace to live as children of God, be united to Jesus Christ, filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and strengthened to spread and defend the Catholic faith (CCC 1303). The Confirmation preparation program seeks to give teens the opportunity to foster and deepen a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, learn about the Catholic faith Jesus gave us and be equipped to continue as a His disciple after being Confirmed. The PORT (Post-Confirmation) program gives the opportunity to continue with their discipleship group, growing in relationship with Christ through fellowship, study of the faith and accountability in Christian living.
Confirmation preparation is open to all youth in grades 8-12. Typically the preparation process is started in 9th grade. Candidates can comfortably complete the program in two years. The heart of our Confirmation program is the Discipleship groups which meet every other week, October - April to discuss the various topics of our Catholic faith. The program also includes retreats, ministry hours, sponsor activities, and more.
