Director of Parish Operations
Reports to Title: Pastor
Position Status: Full‐time, 40‐hour exempt position with benefits. Schedule to be determined. Weekend, evening, and other hours required.
Position Summary
The Director of Parish Operations is a member of the parish’s senior staff in support of the Pastor’s responsibilities with a primary focus on Parish Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and Facilities Maintenance. As a trusted partner with the Pastor, the Director provides leadership, strategic direction, and coordination for all parish activities including stewardship. This position plays a key role in continuing our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ by bringing people into a loving, personal relationship with God, living in the power of the Holy Spirit, and being in communion with the Catholic Church.
Primary Responsibilities
Parish Operations – General
• Maintain and manage effective working relationships with the pastor, staff, parish community, suppliers, committees, and other parish stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the pastor to develop and effectively execute strategies and key performance indicators (KPIs) in support of the parish vision and mission.
• Direct and manage operational policies and procedures to create an environment where ministries can thrive.
• Manage all electronic/technical equipment and networks including but not limited to Wi-Fi, computers/printers, sound systems, software, and phone system.
• Advise the Pastor on business and administrative matters that affect the parish.
Parish Operations – Finance
• Provide financial compliance by ensuring generally accepted accounting principles are implemented and followed.
• Administer the annual budget process in collaboration with the pastor, parish staff, Finance Council, and other committees to ensure financial stability.
• Serve as a resource to parish in financial matters and as parish contact with financial institutions, organizations, and the Archdiocese.
Parish Operations – Human Resources
• Manage office staff including the annual evaluation process. Administer and enforce parish salary and benefit policies and other parish policies as directed by the Pastor.
• Manage the hiring of personnel under the direction of the Pastor. Develop and implement corrective action programs and/or other disciplinary policies including termination policy.
• Set agenda and conduct staff meetings; facilitate Finance Council meetings; attend Parish Council meetings and other meetings as needed.
Parish Operations – Grounds and Building Maintenance
• Manage maintenance staff, ensuring that facility, grounds, and equipment maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
• Ensure that the use of parish facilities complies with all parish and insurance rules and regulations.
• Solicit and review bids and quotes. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and construction firms.
• Prepare, administer, and communicate security policy to staff and parish organizations.
Qualifications and Required Competencies
• Practicing Catholic who desires to make Jesus known and loved.
• Ten years’ experience in business management plus knowledge of effective fund-raising or stewardship programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, finance, accounting, or similar discipline.
• Highly motivated and driven to inspire continuous improvement and innovation.
• Strong relational skills with high emotional intelligence; strategic thinker with proven ability to motivate others and delegate effectively.
• Must be flexible in order to accommodate a sometimes-irregular work schedule.
• Must be Essential 3 compliant on the first day of employment as required by the Archdiocese.

Next Steps Director

Position Summary
Our Next Steps Director (NSD) will be a dynamic leader, helping our parish achieve our vision to form intentional disciples of Jesus Christ. The NSD will design, execute, and measure next-step strategies aimed at growing active participation in our discipleship pathway, with particular attention at this time given to growing small group and service involvement. This is a broad role that includes managing existing adult ministry leaders, while constructing and equipping on-ramps, systems, and ministries to help people easily transition from being a visitor or inquirer at our church to praying, serving, getting connected, giving, and inviting others to take their next steps.
Responsibilities
• Manage next-step adult programming and ministries that enable lifelong formation in the Catholic faith (i.e. Becoming Catholic, Bible Studies, Watchmen, Women at the Well, Financial Peace University, Marriage Enrichment, Men’s and Women’s Retreats, Young Adults Group).
• Develop teams of volunteers and staff to implement ways to help facilitate parishioners’ steps on the Discipleship Pathway (pray, serve, connect, give, and invite), ensuring that barriers are reduced and opportunities are provided and promoted for these actions.
• Be present for an average of three weekends per month at weekend Masses and at significant parish events in order to know and be known by parishioners.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or two to four years of experience working on next-step initiatives
• Practicing Roman Catholic who desires to make Jesus known and loved.
• Knowledge and passion for developing and refining systems and ministry teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, G Suite, ParishSOFT)
• Must be flexible in order to accommodate a sometimes irregular work schedule.
• Must be Essential 3 compliant on first day of employment as required by Archdiocese.
