UPDATE:
Beginning in Fall 2020 our Confirmation Preparation Program will begin during a student’s 8th grade year, and continue through his/her 9th grade year. Students will be confirmed in the spring of their 9th grade year.
Our confirmation program will still be completed over the course of two-years, and will take place during a student’s transition from junior high to high school. It is our hope that this change will be a support to students and families during what can sometimes be a challenging transition.
The first year of the program (for 8th graders) will take place on Monday evenings as part of the Junior High youth group, and the second year (for 9th graders) will take place on Wednesday evenings as part of the Senior High youth group.
This year will be a year of changes as we transition to this new layout of programming. All of our incoming 9th graders will register for Confirmation on Wednesdays. Our plan is for them to be prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during the spring of 2021, along with all of the Year 2 Confirmation students. All of our incoming 8th graders will register for Confirmation on Mondays, beginning year one of the preparation program.
When registering for Confirmation, families are asked to select:
8th Grade Fall 2020 - Confirmation - Mondays 7- 8:30 p.m.
9th Grade Fall 2020 - Confirmation - Wednesdays 7- 9 p.m. (will be confirmed spring 2021)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Any student who is entering into the 8th or 9th grade will be affected directly by this change type of program they will enter in the fall. The night scheduled for their program remains the same as years past.
8th Graders – will enter into Confirmation prep on MONDAY nights and will be confirmed in Spring 2022
9th Graders – will enter into Confirmation prep on WEDNESDAY nights and will be confirmed in Spring 2021 - we will work with the families in this incoming class to ensure they are ready for Confirmation in 1 year instead of 2.
What program do I register my child for?
Incoming 8th Graders – Select Confirmation Prep Mondays 7-8:30 p.m.
Incoming 9th Graders – Select Confirmation Prep Wednesdays 7-9 p.m.
My child is a second-year Confirmation student, getting Confirmed in spring 2021, is there any change that affects me?
You will register for our Confirmation program as planned – for Wednesday nights – We are not adding anything to the Confirmation requirements simply modifying it to better fit our new program layout. You will be the first to know of the finalized plan before we start-up in the Fall.
Can my 8th grader attend Wednesday night Confirmation prep?
No, we encourage you to register them to join an 8th grade group on Monday nights. Through discipleship groups, we want to create positive peer groups that can travel together throughout our program 7-12th grade, by keeping your child in their appropriate night and grade level they will make connections with peers their own age.
